Eleanor Ruth Roberts Carpenter

September 19, 1923 - October 18, 2021

Eleanor Ruth Roberts Carpenter, 98, of Roanoke, Virginia, passed away peacefully on Monday, October 18, 2021.

She was born on September 19, 1923, in West Union, W.Va., to the late Jesse and Hattie Roberts. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Arthur G. Carpenter, and sister, Ellen Louise Antos.

Eleanor graduated from Williamstown High School in Williamstown, W.Va. She was an avid reader and a dog lover.

Surviving to cherish her memory are her daughters, Barbara Ferro (Chuck) and Ellen Pregnall (John); grandchildren, Brian Greenfield (Karen), Kimberly Pregnall, and Michael Pregnall (Christy); four great-grandchildren, Courtney and Catlin Greenfield and Ethan and Emma Pregnall; and brother, James P. Roberts (Ada).

The family wishes to thank the staff at Brandon Oaks Retirement Community for their care.

Burial will be held at Pleasant View Memory Gardens in Martinsburg, W.Va. at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Shriners Children's Hospital or to a humane society. Online condolences may be made at www.oakeys.com.
