March 9, 1940 - May 12, 2021
Emilee "Lee" Boyd, 81, of Roanoke, Virginia, passed away on Wednesday, May 12, 2021.
Lee was a son of the late Ballard and Opal Boyd of Pikeville, Kentucky. He was also preceded in death by a grandson, Joshua Mowles; four brothers, Bobby, Kenny, Glenn, and Don; and a sister, Joanne Thacker.
Lee was retired from the Virginia Department of Highways.
He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Matildia "Tilly" Boyd; daughters, Darlene Mowles and husband, Rodney, and Glenda Simmons and husband, Todd; grandchildren, Jeremy Mowles (Sarah), Kasey Johnson, and Michael Young; great-grandchildren, Taylar Johnson and Jamie Bowles; granddaughter-in-law, Tracy Mowles; two brothers, Tim Boyd and Everett Boyd (Flo); and numerous cousins and friends.
Funeral Services will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, May 17, 2021, at Oakey's North Chapel with Chaplain Steve Shackleford officiating. Interment will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Sunday, May 16, 2021, at the funeral home. Online condolences may be made at www.oakeys.com.

Today as I am preparing my sister's obituary I find , Mr. Boyd's obituary. Mr. Boyd was a wonderful neighbor, always ready to do anything for anyone. Tillie , I think of you often. My sincere sympathy. Martha's service is Sat., July 10. She passed on July 6, 2021. Sincerely Margaret Parker(sister)
