Florence SHUMATE Obituary
Survivors include son and daughter-in-law, Alban E. and Phyllis Shumate, of Radford; daughter, Janet Effler, of Radford; sister, Ruth McDowell, of Roanoke, Va.; grandchildren and their spouses, Rebecca Shumate, of Roanoke, Mark and Linda Shumate, of Radford, John and Niki Shumate, of Shawsville, Lee and Sharon Effler, of Radford, Debra Taylor, of Radford, and Scott Effler and Geoff, of San Francisco, Calif.; and great-grandchildren, Karlie, Lauren, Katie, Brad, Nathan, Marianna and Meagan; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, June 29, 2012, at the Unity Christian Church in Radford with the Rev. Gina Rhea and the Rev. Bobby Sutphin officiating. Interment will follow in the Sunrise Burial Park in Radford. The family will receive friends on Thursday evening, June 28, 2012, from 6 until 8 p.m. at the Mullins Funeral Home in Radford. Flowers appreciated or if desired may make donations to the Unity Christian Church Building Fund, 400 Tyler Avenue, Radford, VA 24141. The Shumate family is in the care of Mullins Funeral Home & Crematory in Radford. www.mullinsfuneralhome.com.
