Frances Blair Obituary

Frances Christie Blair, went to be with her Heavenly Father, on Thursday, July 16, 2009. Frances was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend to so many people. Her faith in God and her love for her family were the constant guiding strengths in every aspect of her life. She loved life and felt blessed everyday. Frances always had a positive attitude and was able to see the good in all people. To know her was to love her and so many people did. Frances will always be remembered for her smile, her laugh, her song, and her heart. She is preceded in death by her husband, Paul Blair; her parents, Samuel and Minnie Christie. She is survived by her family, Christie Akers, John and Joellen Blair, Lauren and Brad Boothe, Scott, Amanda, and Tristen Akers, Sam and Mary Ruth Christie, Carol and Donn Branch, Audrey Bates, and Iris Harnack. Frances also leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends. A special thanks from the family to Dr. Michael Malpass, for the many years of loving care and support. The family will receive visitors on Sunday July 19,2009, from 2 to 5 p.m. at Oakey's South Chapel, 4257 Brambleton Ave., Roanoke, Va. 24018. A Memorial Worship and Music Service will be on Monday July 20, 2009, at 2 p.m. at Raleigh Court Presbyterian Church, 1837 Grandin Rd. SW, Roanoke Va. 24015. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to Raleigh Court Presbyterian Church or a charity of choice. Arrangements by Oakey's South Chapel.
