Hard to believe that it has been 10 years. Almost every time I fire up my Morgan, I think of Fred and the fact that he had one. Rest in peace, my good friend and fellow AHS classmate.

I just now heard of Fred's passing. I met Fred at Riverjack Crafts many years ago, and have talked and visited with him as he worked through the years. Fred and Dorsey supported me in my efforts to set up the Disc Golf Course in Fishburn Park in 1991. Fred was a true friend, and an outstanding person. I will treasure laughing with him through the years. I will miss you Fred. Thanks for being my friend.

Dee,
I may have met you at John Wynne's house. Just learned about Fred's passing. He was a wonderful guy and a high school chum of mine. I also learned that he owned a Morgan-I do too. My best to you and your family-you have truly lost a unique soul-we all have.

Dear Dee,
Lynn and I just learned tonight of Fred's passing, from a former Old Southwest neighbor. It has been many many years since we moved away or saw you all. We had heard from someone some time ago that Fred was ill, but had no idea how serious it must have been.
We are so very sorry for you and your family. We shared some good times long ago. Fred was a really unique character and will be missed.
Rest in peace, Fred.

Dearest Dee,
Words are insufficient to describe the positive influence Fred had on his friends. He made everyone feel good about themselves. He saw the world through the eyes of an accepting child, but with the wisdom of a sage. Fred was not ours to keep; the best of humanity never are. We will remember and love him as he loved all of his friends; unconditionally. You were so good for him and devoted to him. All our love to you and your children.

Dee & Family,
I have so many fond memories of Fred it's hard to express the loss which I feel. But we will still have the great memories and events that will be with us forever. Like the trip to the show in Pa. when you & Fred and Vickie & I stayed at the General Evans B & B.
That was a great time.
Vickie & I wish you the best and don't be a stranger.
Be sure to let us know about the memorial service.
Love,
Ken

Dee,
You probably don't remember me as we only met at Sam's Club one night years ago, prior to your marriage to Fred. His parents were there also.
I went to Roanoke Technical Institute with Fred and we ran around together many years ago. I was talking with Ted Smith a few months ago and he told me Fred had some health problems. I did not expect to see this in the paper but we never know about what the future holds.
Fred was a very kind and sincere individual. I know you and the family will miss him as well as the community.
I had planed to come to the house Saturday night but my mother passed away Friday night and I was unable to make it. Please let me know if you have a memorial service later.
My heart goes out to you.

Dee,
I was deeply saddened to learn of Fred's passing. I did not know that he had been ill. As you know, I had a great deal of love and respect for Fred. He was always so upbeat with a great sense of humor and I always felt better after visiting and talking with Fred. I will deeply miss Fred as will all of his many friends. I hope you are doing OK and my heartfelt sympathy goes out to you and the family. Take care.

I first met Fred at Mike Ives's house on Christmas Eve 1970. I had come with Herb Eversole and Mary Divers to Mike and Mona's party.
I remember Fred diving into this big bowl of some kind of salad and just about eating the whole bowl.
And then he had the wood shop at Riverjack Crafts at the same time Dorsey had Dorsey's Gallery there.
I didn't see Fred that much in the last number of years, but it was always a joy to see him whenever I did.
He always had a big smile for old friends and new friends alike.
His smiling face has always been a pleasant memory of mine for years and will be there for many years to come.

Dear Dee and family,
We will remember Fred as the man who always had a smile on his face. Regardless of how we felt, Fred always picked up our spirits. He was the bright light in any room he entered.
And he never completely grew up. His inner child was always peeking out through his bright eyes, looking for more mischief to get into.
We will never forget Fred and the love he radiated. He was a lesson in the good life, embodied in one man.
