Garland Corvin Obituary

Garland Vance Corvin, 87, of Wytheville, Va., passed away Tuesday, October 26, 2010. He was the son of the late William Troy and Ida Jane Walters Corvin. He was retired from Meadow Gold Dairies which was the former Clover Creamery Milk Company. He was a United States Army Veteran of World War II in the European Theater. He was a member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, the American Legion, and was preceded in death by his brothers, Roy Fred, Paul, Willis, Walter, Worley and his twin Glen Corvin. He is survived by his wife, Mary Ann Gordon Corvin, of Wytheville; daughters and sons-in-law, Martha and Bob Ballard, Brenda and Mike Ingoe, Cindy and Art Hedrick, all of Wytheville; son and daughter-in-law, Troy and Janet Corvin, of Hillsville; grandchildren and spouses, Heather and Terry Jones, of Wytheville, Chris Corvin, of Wytheville, Jamie and Betsy Ingoe, Richmond, Va., Casey and Elizabeth Ballard, of Wytheville, Amanda Ingoe, of Orange, Evan Hedrick, of Wytheville, Patrick Hedrick, of Wytheville; greatgrandchildren, Logan Wingate, of Independence, Alexander Ballard, of Wytheville; sister-in-law, Willie Corvin, of Wytheville. Several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral service will be Thursday, 11 a.m. in the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, conducted by Pastor Steve Ridenhour and Vicar Jason Felici with interment in the St. John's Lutheran Cemetery. Family will receive friends at the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Thursday from 10 a.m. until service time. Flowers would be appreciated or memorial donations may be made to Learn Today Lead Tomorrow After School Program (LTLT) @ Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, Wytheville, Va. Grubb Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
