Gary Craddock Obituary
July 8, 1941 - November 10, 2025
The family wishes to announce the passing of Gary Dwain Craddock, 84, of Daleville, Va., on Monday, November 10, 2025.
He was preceded in death by his father, Homer J. Craddock and his mother, Louzania "Dana" Craddock.
Gary is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Anna Craddock; his son, Victor Dwain Craddock; his daughter, Kimberly Ruth Craddock; and his grandson, Benjamin Viet Craddock. He is also survived by his sister, Lynn Williams and brothers, Jack Craddock and Colin Craddock.
Mr. Craddock was born in Pax, W.Va., on July 8, 1941. He attended Pax High School and later studied at Mary Baldwin College and Virginia Western College, where he earned an associate's degree in business. Gary dedicated 42 years of service to the Roanoke Times and retired as the Press Room Manager.
The family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Dr. James Polascik, Dr. Daniel George, and Leann Richburg of Duke University as well as Dr. Andrew Slemp of Carilion Wound Center for their exceptional care and compassion.
A visitation will be held at Oakey's Vinton Chapel on Friday, November 14, 2025, at 1 p.m. followed by a funeral service at 2 p.m. Interment will follow at Mountain View Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Gary's memory. Condolences may be shared with his family by visiting:
