Harrison Caudill Obituary

Harrison Caudill, 75, of Roanoke, Va., passed away on Thursday, November 1, 2007 after a short fight with Lymphoma. He had worked in carpentry his entire life and was retired from Roanoke Memorial Hospital. Harrison was preceded in death by his parents, Reed and Elva Wooldridge Caudill; two infant daughters, Kathy Diane Caudill and Regina Carol Caudill; and three brothers, Howard Thomas Caudill, Gordon Caudill and Lonnie Caudill. He is survived by his wife of almost 56 years, Maxine Worrell Caudill; daughters and sons-in-law, Darlene and Ronnie Wood of Roanoke, Anna and Frank Murrie of Copper Hill and Teresa and Jeff Leonard of Roanoke; grandchildren, Crystal Bradley, Kelli and Allison Murrie, Amanda and Jeffrey Leonard; stepgrandchildren, Jason Wood and wife, Patty and Christy Wood; greatgrandchildren, Alexis Williams and Dakota Wright; stepgreatgrandchildren, Justin, Justina and Jace Wood; one brother, Jesse Caudill and wife, Emma, of Manassas; sisters, Marie Evans of Manassas, Cora Viers of Princeton, W.Va., Helen Martin and husband, Ray, of Cleveland, Ohio, Gail Shawver of Bluefield, Va., Betty Lester and husband, John, of Louisa, Va. and Phyllis Cady and husband, Randy, of Dunlap, Tenn. Also surviving are his wife's sisters-in-law, Rita Worrell of Roanoke and Alta Worrell of Dayton, Ohio; along with numerous nieces, nephews and friends. The family will receive friends at Oakey's South Chapel on Friday, November 2, 2007 from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Services will be at Oakey's South Chapel at 10 a.m. on Saturday, November 3, 2007. The Rev. Jeff Gardner will officiate. Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. on Saturday in the Alderman Memorial Cemetery in Carroll County, Va. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Lamplight Baptist Church in Roanoke or Lawrence Memorial United Methodist Church of Bent Mountain. Special thanks to the staff at Roanoke Memorial Rehab, 3rd Floor nurses, and to the Raleigh Court Healthcare Center in Roanoke, and to our church families at Lamplight Baptist Church and Lawrence Memorial United Methodist Church.
