Harry Dalton Obituary

Harry Clinton Dalton, 84, of Indian Valley, Va., passed away on August 24, 2009. He was the unofficial "Mayor of Indian Valley." He was born on March 9, 1925, to Earnest and Mellie Dalton. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Verna Quesenberry Dalton; brother, Harold Eugene Dalton; sister, Ila Oletta Dalton; and niece, Lois Elaine Dalton Millis. He is survived by his wife, Ruth Ann Dalton, of Indian Valley; sisterin-law, Effie Dalton, of Christiansburg; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Lafone and Harless Moles, of Floyd; brother-in-law and sister-inlaw, Jimmy and Brenda Pettry, of North Potomac, Md.; nephews and nieces, Lowell Dalton and wife, Nina, of Blacksburg, Titus Dalton and wife, Glenda, of Christiansburg, Charles Millis, of Indianapolis, Ind., Janie Spence and husband, Jimmy, of Willis, Joyce Howery, of Floyd, and Charles Moles, of Max Meadows; special nephew, Timothy Cox and wife, Elizabeth, of Indian Valley; several great-nieces and nephews; and two special cats, Baby and Blackie. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. on Thursday, August 27, 2009, at the Maberry Funeral Home with the Rev. Roy Turpin officiating. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 26, 2009, from 7 to 9 p.m. and on Thursday one hour prior to the funeral. Interment will follow in the Sumpter Cemetery.
