June 15, 1928 - September 15, 2024
Helen M. Deck, 96, of Roanoke, VA, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, September 15, 2024.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Dorcey William "Bill" Deck Sr.; her parents, Henry Boyle Martin and Ida Mae Cole; seven brothers and sisters; and son-in-law, Jerry Lynn Altizer.
Bill and Helen were married on the television show Bride and Groom in New York City on July 10, 1951. Helen was a lifelong homemaker and mother. She loved playing bridge and golf as well as gardening. She traveled frequently with Bill, wintering in Port Charlotte, FL, and playing golf all around the country including Pebble Beach, CA. She and Bill also built over 50 homes for their family in Virginia and Alabama.
She is survived by her sister, Rita Richardson; daughter, Patricia Altizer; daughter, Linda Deck Corbitt (Steven Watson); son, Dr. Bill Deck Jr. (Margie); grandchildren, William Blake Corbitt, Hannah Margaret Deck, and Jace William Deck; and her wonderful, dear friend, Jane Lape.

So very sorry to see this! Always thought a lot of Helen. She tickled me with this one move where she would take the clock off the wall in the apartment. I would tell her to ask for help with this instead of her taking it down to change the battery! She would just giggle! Good lady!
