James Scott "Jimmy" Fugate, 53, of Roanoke, Virginia, passed away on Friday, September 9, 2022.
Jimmy was born on January 12, 1969, in Richmond, Va. to the late Katherine (Kitty) Fugate and late Ralph Fugate.
Left to cherish his memory are his brothers, Bill Fugate and Ronnie (Tonda) Fugate; niece, Haley Fugate; nephew, Ryan Fugate; a host of aunts, uncles, and cousins; his trusty sidekicks, Nellie and Justin Pleasants, all of whom he dearly loved.
Jimmy attended William Fleming High School and spent his career working in HVAC. He loved tinkering in his garage whether it was fixing an air conditioner or motorcycle, or rebuilding an engine, he was truly a jack of all trades. He grew up racing anything with a motor and enjoyed spending time with friends and family. He loved taking long rides with his dogs and never turned down a Coke Zero.
Jimmy's infectious laugh and ability to always find trouble, even when he was not looking for it, will never be forgotten. Everyone that met him would walk away having a memorable "Jimmy" story.
The family will receive friends from 5:30 until 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, September 15, 2022, at Oakey's South Chapel. A Memorial Service celebrating Jimmy's life will be held at 12 noon on Friday, September 16, 2022, at Oakey's South Chapel with Msgr. Patrick Golden officiating. I remember Jimmy exactly like you've described him here. Your mom and all three of you 'Fugate boys' have always held a special place in our hearts and I miss seeing you. I am saddened by this loss.
