Jerry Templeton Obituary

Jerry G. Templeton, 66, of Salem, Va., went to his Heavenly home on Saturday, October 18, 2008. He was born September 4, 1942 in Lynchburg, Va., son of Hazel Leedy Templeton and the late Fay W. Templeton. Jerry was a former employee of Double Envelope and the Roanoke Times. He was a member of Edgewood Christian Church in Salem and loved to paint and do art work. In addition to his mother, he is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Carol Steele Templeton; three sons and daughter-in-law, Richard T. Templeton, Mark M. and Arlene Templeton and Ryan T. Templeton; sister, Katherine Turner; father-in-law, Henry C. Steele; and a nephew, Charles Turner. A memorial service will be conducted at 3 p.m. Tuesday, October 21, 2008 at the chapel of John M. Oakey and Son, Salem, with the Rev. David Workman officiating. The family will receive friends following the service at the funeral home. The family would like to thank the staff of Good Samaritan Hospice, Dr. Fintel and Dr. Feldenzer for their professional and loving care of Jerry.
