Joseph Lineberry Obituary

Joseph Benjamin Lineberry, 81, of Buena Vista, died Tuesday, March 13, 2007 in the Salem VA Medical Center, Salem, Va. He was born April 6, 1925 in Rockbridge County, a son of the late William Eli Lineberry and Mary Smith Lineberry. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by six brothers, Franklin Lineberry, Clarence Slagle, Clyde Lineberry, Odell Lineberry, Lewis Lineberry, and Roy Lineberry; one sister, Naomi Lineberry Davis. He was retired from Modine Manufacturing, a member of McCutchen Presbyterian Church, American Legion Post 126, Veterans of Foreign War, a World War II Veteran and recipient of the Bronze Star for actions during combat. Mr. Lineberry is survived by his wife, Virginia "Jean" Lineberry; a son, J.R. Lineberry and wife, Sheila of Buena Vista; a daughter, Pat Lineberry Humphreys and husband, Steve, of Harrisonburg; four grandchildren, Andrea L. Weeks, Fairfield, Margaret A. Lineberry and Neal Lineberry, Buena Vista, and Kristi H. Harold, Harrisonburg; six greatgrandchildren, Hannah C. Weeks and John L. Weeks, Fairfield, Abigail P. Lineberry and Madelyn S. Lineberry of Buena Vista, and Connor W. Harold and Lauren E. Harold, of Harrisonburg. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, March 16, 2007 at Bolling Grose & Lotts Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Larry Miles officiating. Burial will follow in Green Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, March 15, 2007, at Bolling, Grose & Lotts Funeral Service, Buena Vista, Va.
