Judy Ann Huffman Amos, 75, of Hardy, Va., entered the gates of Heaven on Wednesday, June 1, 2022.
She was born on March 14, 1947, to Maynard and Martha Huffman in Smyth County, Va.
Judy graduated from Andrew Lewis High School. She loved to sing and was active in both school and church choral groups. Throughout her lifetime, she used her graceful and engaging talents serving in her church choir, traveling choirs ranging from Canada, New York, and Washington, D.C., and numerous military engagements.
Judy had a personal, loving relationship with the Lord and the church was her second home. The family has many years of fond memories participating in church activities and her investment in their lives by instilling Christian values and creating wonderful childhood memories.
Judy delighted in raising her children and spending time with her family, visiting with friends, playing card games, riding her bike, and cooking.
Left to cherish her memory is her husband of 47 years, Byron; children, Heather (Clifton) Williams, Robin Amos, Duane (Laura) Amos, and Julian Russell (Nita) Criner; grandchildren, Aaron and Joshua Williams, and Anna, Bethany and Cora Amos; sister, Donna (Dwayne) Roye; special cousin, Pat Yeatts; and many other relatives and friends. Judy also leaves behind her beloved sister in Christ and longtime friend of over 30 years, Elaine Hale.
She was preceded in death by her father, Maynard Huffman; mother, Martha Richards; and loving stepfather, James Richards.
The family will receive friends from 5 until 7 p.m. on Monday, June 6, 2022, and from 10 a.m. until 12 noon on Tuesday, June 7, 2022, at Bonsack Baptist Church. Memorial Services to remember and honor Judy's life will be conducted at 12 noon on Tuesday, June 7, 2022, at Bonsack Baptist Church. Online condolences may be expressed at www.oakeys.com.
