To the Flora Family--Carol and I just learned of your loss, and we are deeply saddened. Kevin was always a bright light in our lives, from the days we first knew him when he was a student at Franklin County High School when we taught there until the last time we saw him in Rocky Mount and shared, as always, a good laugh with him. His smile was infectious, and his mischievous sense of humor was always apparent in the sparkle in his eyes. What a terrific young man, and what a great loss for everyone who knew him.

To the Flora family,
The first time I met Kevin was at the video store. Omni, I think it was called; with my sons. Kevin was so friendly and always made it a point to talk sports with my boys, Brian, Andy, and Matt. I watched and kept tabs on his progression throughout the following years because he was one of a kind. He served his county well and was a blessing to his family and friends, I am sure. God bless those he left behind.

I was so sorry to receive your phone call Sunday morning. Kevin was a wonderful man and will always be remembered because he touched everyone's heart he came in touch with. His smile had a way of lighting up the world. Heaven is surely a brighter place today. I know God will carry you through this time . Remember if you need me I'm here for you. Harold and I were shocked to hear of Kevin's passing. We have so many wonderful memories of Kevin at Dad's canning house. How happy he was to be hanging out with Mom,Dad, Carmon and Jennifer canning something! Always a happy smile! Mom and Dad thought so much of you, Kevin and your girls. I know this time is just too hard to take but remember God does not put any more on you than your can take. As a lady at Trinity Mission told me...But, He sure can bend you over...So remember right now you are bend over bad, but time heals all wounds. It saddens me greatly to hear of Kevin's passing. We were best friends back in the late 70's and I considered him the brother I never had. I still smile when thinking of our good times and mischief together. He will forever be missed.

I was in shock yesterday to hear about Kevin. He truly was a good man and a good father. His smile lit up a room. I saw him not long ago and we talked about old times and how life had changed for us. He loved his family. I wish I could say the correct words to make it better, but I can't, so just know that your friends have you in their heart.

I have considered you and Kevin close friends for many years. I have very fond memories from our times in Jaycees. Kevin is a very special soul as you know and has a loving, caring heart. What a shock to hear of Kevin's death. He was so good at the funeral home dealing with our family at the sudden loss of our brother. Kevin went out of his way to help us and my nephew to make the arrangements.
