Lacy RAINES Obituary
Mr. Raines served in the United States Navy during the Korean War. He worked at General Electric for many years, before residing in Botetourt County and becoming a Vocational Education teacher. He retired from the Botetourt County School System and had a passion for gardening, and any electrical work. He was a member of Calvary Tabernacle Church. He was loved by all who knew him.
Surviving are his wife, Betty B. Raines; daughter, Vickie Wills; and a sister, Evelyn R. Fisher.
Special thanks to all the caregivers that added so much joy to his final days. A special thank you to his cousin and best friend, Bobby Raines.
Funeral Services will be conducted at 1 p.m. on Friday, August 31, 2012, at Simpson Funeral Home, 5160 Peters Creek Road. Interment will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Arrangements by Simpson Funeral Home. 540-366-0707.

I was so sorry to hear about Lacy. I was in the first 2 years that he was a teacher. I thought a lot of him then and still think of him often.I will always keep him in my thoughts.

Betty, Vickie, and family,
Our hearts are saden of the passing of our wonderful cousin. He was a very special person alway's talked of his great friends, family and the love he had for everyone!
We will miss him.

So sorry to learn of Lacy's passing. We remember the dinner we had with him just prior to moving to Roanoke. He was such a pleasant man and we thought alot of him. Dad remembers growing up with him in Peterstown. May God comfort you during this difficult time. You are in our thoughts and prayers.
