September 29, 1929 - March 30, 2024
Lois Virginia Thomas Mays, 94, of the Boreauger Community of Blue Ridge, Va., entered into eternal rest on Saturday, March 30, 2024, at her home with her daughters by her side.
Lois held several secretarial positions before opening her own clothing store.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Ada Chambers Thomas. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Dennis Edward Mays; sisters, Irene Thomas and Ruby Brown; brothers, O.C., Edison, Robert Sisler, Fred and Woodrow Thomas.
Lois is survived by her two devoted daughters, Debbie Gray and Cyndi Baker; grandson, Denny (Lisa) Gray; granddaughters, Tina Gray and Ginger (Hubie) Mills; great-grandchildren, Brodyn Huddleston, Henry Gray, and Isabella Mills; sisters-in-law, June Thomas, Clara Mae Thomas, and Shirley Mays; and a very special niece, Joyce Thomas, who gave excellent care to our Mama during the final year of her life.
The family will receive friends from 3 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, April 4, 2024, at Oakey's Vinton Chapel. Funeral Services will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, April 5, 2024, at Oakey's Vinton Chapel with Pastor David McNeill officiating. Interment will follow at Shady Grove Baptist Church Cemetery in Bedford County. Condolences may be shared with the family at www.Oakeys.com.
