Louis Curd Obituary

Louis Rogers Curd (Lou) passed away on December 16, 2024.

He was born in Roanoke on August 25, 1941; attended Jefferson High School, and graduated from Roanoke College in the 70's.

He was the former President of Professional Ophthalmic Laboratories (POL) in Roanoke.

He is survived by a sister, Diane Strickler; a niece, Scarlett Fitzgerald; and a nephew, Ivey Webster; good friends, Bill Webster and Bruce Jacobson.

People remember Big Lou for his skill at the billiard table and pool hall located years ago inside the downtown Sportsman. He loved a good game of golf and he avidly played his guitar, preferring the genre of Peter, Paul and Mary. He couldn't sing a lick, however.

Lou was 82 at the time of his death. He had struggled years with Alzheimer's.

Please remember his dry sense of humor.

May he rest in peace. Happy Birthday.
