Malik Eubank Obituary
aylin loves his family and friends. He loves nature and all that God created. He was the best son and brother. He always had a handsome smile and it was contagious. He is a very blessed young man . . . always and 4ever! (Mom)
Jaylin, my oldest son, I love you so much and you'll be so missed by everyone but you will never ever be forgotten. I love you son. C-ya soon (Dad)
A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday, December 9, 2009 at Fairview United Methodist Church, Roanoke, with the Pastor Donald W. Baldwin officiating. Interment will follow at Cedar Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Tuesday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at Fairview United Methodist Church. The Eubank family is being served by John M. Oakey and Son, Salem, 540-389-5441.

To the family of Jaylin:
I can tell you that, truly, I know your pain. I only met Jaylin as a child playing with my son in my backyard when I lived in the neighborhood. My son Christopher was in many classes with Jaylin during their tenure at Westside. He has spoken so frequently of his memories; those are what you hold dearly. He may be gone but those memories will be with you forever. As a mother who has experienced the loss of a son at his age of 13, I can tell you that you have yet to feel the greatest pain. You may not understand how someone who is so young and innocent can be taken away so early, but remember, GOD doesn't make mistakes. Look to him for strength and guidance; he is a healer, the only one who can bring you through this. The pain will never totally be removed, but I promise you, one day you will only smile when you think of the joy Jaylin once brought to you. Cry, shed your tears and don't let anyone tell you any different. The loss of a child is a loss that cannot be compared with anything else. So grieve the loss of Jaylin, but remeber he is a rose in HIS garden, HE needed his smiling spirit; Jaylin's job here was done so GOD called him home. I know you loved him but GOD loved him best. Hold on to one another through this long untraveled road, love one another when you may fell there is no more love to give. That pain and ache in your heart...I know it all too well, and even though it has been a few years for my loss, that heartache returns frequently and I embrace it, because that pain is the love I had and continue to have for my Charlie. My thoughts and prayers are with you all. Jaylin may be gone from this home but he will forever remain in your heart. You WILL see him again! There were so many good qualities that this child had. He was sweet, caring, and loving, traits you don’t see much anymore. I always enjoyed being in his company and seeing that smile of his. I was amazed to see how loving he could be. He was so kind to my little girl that he was her best play buddy. Memories start to surface when I see something he had touched, and this young man had truly touched my heart. Malik Jaylin, was a beautiful person inside and out. He will be extremely missed! Coaching Malik was one of the most REWARDING experiences of my young life. Malik was a leader on the field; always giving it his all. His passion for greatness, and positive attitude was contagious to all around him.
I remember time after time, a fly ball was hit his way, he would without thinking, take his hat off catching the ball in left field.

I taught at Ruffner last year, and sadly I did not know Jaylin all that well, but I knew him enough to know that he was a great kid. He always had a smile on his face when I saw him. I watched him wrestle many times at Ruffner wrestling matches, he showed great sportsmanship. He had a great spirit and a bright future, he will be missed by many. May Jaylin rest in peace, and be a SAINT that is never forgotten....

Many young people touch our lives, but
only a few leave a lasting part of themselves wherever they go.
If I think of the Community Outreach Program, I think first of Jaylin, his sisters and his mom. If I think of Fleming, I think of the day I was substituting and Jaylin ran into my classroom to say "Hi".
It is clear that his family is strong and supportive. They will carry on with Christ's help that same mission that was so evident in Jaylin's short life. I only wish I could carry some of the grief that this family must bear.

I taught Malik during my fourth period English class at Ruffner Middle School. I remember, Malik, when you and your classmates wrote childrens' books and read them to students at Fairview. You were so proud of your book and took the assignment so seriously. You even dressed up!!!
Malik had a terrific smile and a great personality. He was one of the kindest students I have ever taught.
In your short life, you made quite an impact on the world. You will surely be missed.

I had the pleasure of meeting Jay at weekend retreat in October 2009. He was great and I feel blessed to have known him. While I am sad to hear he has passed, I find comfort in knowing I will see him again one day. I know this for sure because Jay prayed the prayer of salvation with me that weekend. He placed his faith in Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior. He is now in now with Jesus. Bless you, Jay! I pray God will comfort his family and friends!

I first met Malik at Magic Place with his mom as the director. Quincy's first day there and Malik was his best buddy. I cherish the time the we have spent with him. I called him "my hunky boyfriend". Malik you will always be in my heart. May god be with you and your family at this time. We Love you!

Although I only taught Malik a short time, he made a profound impression on me. He was a wonderful student in my Spanish class. His smile brightened the classroom as soon as he walked in. He always tried his best! Everyday he came to class ready and willing to learn. He will be sincerely missed. Your family is in my thoughts and prayers.

I will never forget the first time i met Malik. Coming into church with carter and kelley and seeing Malik smile from across the room. Thats one smile i will never forget, it lights up a room. His dancing was always the best, boy did he know how to move. He will be missed sooo much. To his family, you are all in my thoughts and prayers.

I always had a very special place in my heart for Malik, from sneaking him extra candy bars or gum at youth to giving him big hugs at church. I really enjoyed being around Malik as well as all the Eubank kids. They are all very special and sweet. They all have their mother's sparkle. I will miss Malik very much. There will be an empty place in my heart for him. He was turning into such an awesome young man. God Bless the Eubank family.
