Martha "Marki" Carter Graves of Salem, Va., passed away on Wednesday, December 21, 2022.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, December 27, 2022, at Oakey's East Chapel with the Rev. Alan Clark officiating. The Graveside Service will follow at 2 p.m. on Tuesday at the Carter Family Cemetery in Alleghany County.

When Marki and I were much younger, we would lay in the grass at the old home place, look at the sky, and tell each other what we saw in the clouds. I can remember it like it was yesterday; Godspeed my dear cousin.
