June 24, 1938 - August 2, 2022
Mary Evelyn Woodward Leonard, 84, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, August 2, 2022. She was the daughter of the late Maud and Cuma McDonald Woodward. She was also preceded in death by two brothers.
Mary spent career working at Burlington Mill, Kencer Grocery and K & W Cafeteria.
She will be missed and remembered by her children, James Edward McWhorter, Brenda Schaeffer, Charlie D.L. Leonard and patty Krause; eight grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, eight great-great-grandchildren, and three great-great-great-grandchildren.
A party to celebrate her homegoing and to honor her life will be held at 5:30 p.m. on Sunday, August 7, 2022 at Glade Creek Baptist Church, with Dr. Phil Ayers and the Rev. Steven McChesney officiating.
In lieu of flowers the family has requested that memorial donations be made to a local Hospice Service of your choice.
