Michael Wingfield Obituary

Michael Christopher "Chris" Wingfield, 57, of Fincastle, Virginia, went to be with the Lord on Friday, November 12, 2021.
Chris was a devout Christian, a loving father, and a devoted husband. He enjoyed spending his free time with his family and three dogs. He was passionate about music, especially rock and roll. Chris also enjoyed sports, especially football and baseball.
He is survived by loving wife, Mary Wingfield; two sons, Chris Wingfield Jr. and Matthew Wingfield; his mother, Nancy Wingfield; his father and stepmother, John and Linda Wingfield; father-in-law, Frank Black Jr.; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Melissa and Tracy Taylor, and Jenny and Donnie Stinnett; two nieces; and one nephew.
The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. on Monday, November 15, 2021, at Oakey's East Chapel. A private graveside service will be held at a later date. Online condolences may be made at www.oakeys.com.

Chris was a great mentor to me. He was one of the first people I met at BE. I still cannot believe that he is gone. He may be gone, but he will never be forgotten. I am praying for peace and comfort to his family during this sad time.

Words cannot express the sorrow I feel with his passing. I am very sorry for your loss.
While I did not know Chris as well as others, he had a very calming demeanor and I always enjoyed talking to him. He was such a caring and nice man.
