Mildred Josephine Clarke

Mildred Josephine Clarke, 96, of Vinton, passed away Saturday, June 27, 2009. She was born June 1, 1913. Her husband, John Denton Clarke, preceded her in death. Also four brothers; and two sisters preceded her. Surviving are two sons, Meredith Clarke and his wife, Betty, of Surfside, S.C., Ellsworth Clarke and his wife, Nancy, of Roanoke; five grandchildren; 11 greatgrandchildren; sister, Phyllis Saunders, of Roanoke. Funeral services will be conducted 10 a.m. Tuesday at Lotz Vinton Chapel with the Rev. James Millsaps and the Rev. Shawn Dobbins officiating. Interment will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens.
