Coach Hypes was a constant part of my life growing up. He was my coach in every sport I played. Always encouraging. Later I would keep up with him at the golf course on the hill. He was a great person, a great coach, a great friend and will be missed by all. Prayers to the family.

I know how much he will be missed because his heart was overflowing with love for the people around him.I had the pleasure to spend many days and nights working carrying chains at high school games, seeing him on the hill, softball games, and his kids grow up. He always had a kind word and will be sorely missed. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family Joyce, Ron, and the ladies.

Joyce & family,

My sympathies. Truly a great man. I was blessed to be coached by him and Roscoe...and to this day I still recall things he taught me about life. He always left you with a smile on your face.

My sympathies go out to the family of Coach Hypes. I believe that if you played sandlot football or basketball in the 70's and 80's, you probably were coached by him. I had the pleasure of having him as my coach in sandlot football and basketball for quite a few years and later, getting to see him all the time at the golf course. I am sure he made lasting impression on many young men like myself. He will be missed.
