Pearlie Mae Wimmer Jones

Pearlie Jones Obituary

Pearlie Mae Wimmer Jones, 77, of Roanoke, passed peacefully in her home on Tuesday, October 17, 2006. Surviving are her son, Gary Alderman; daughter, Ginger Alderman; granddaughter, Sybil Barrett; great-grandson, Griffin Barrett Lewis; her loyal companion, Tofa; and numerous other dear friends and family. Pearlie was formerly of Martinsville, where she raised her family and also formerly of Vinton, where she owned and operated Foxy Lady Beauty Den for over 20 years. Later in her life, she spent time as a caregiver sharing her love and kindness with people in their homes. She has currently resided in Roanoke where her creative and loving nature was apparent in all of her surroundings. Her home was a "Doll House", and her yard a "Sanctuary" to her beloved birds and chipmunks. She always had an open heart and open house, and her delightful sense of humor and culinary works made her a stranger to no one. She will be dearly missed. A private memorial will be held in her home on Saturday, October 21, 2006 at 3 p.m. (call for additional information). Please come and let's share and celebrate the life of Pearlie Mae Wimmer Jones, also known as Mother Pearl and Grandmommy. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Good Samaritan Hospice or Angels of Assisi.
