Reba Austin Obituary

Reba Smith Austin, 85, of Grassy Creek, N.C., a precious and loving mother and grandmother, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, September 21, 2006. She was born April 16, 1921 at Piney Creek, N.C. to Emory and Polly Dowell Smith. Surviving, her husband, Ray Austin; two daughters and spouse, Irene Billings of Kernersville, N.C. and Nancy and Bill Dancy of Walkertown, N.C.; three sons and spouses, Joe Austin of Rural Hall, N.C., Ronnie and Nancy Austin of Kernersville, N.C. and Jerry and Betty Austin of Blacksburg, Va.; two sisters and spouse, Jessie Gwyn and Greek MacMillan and Blandena Carter, all of Bel Air, Md.; seven grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren also survive. Funeral service will be held Sunday at 8 p.m. in Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Home Chapel, Independence, Va. The Rev. Charles Bolling, Sr. will officiate. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. prior to the service. A graveside service will be held Monday at 10 a.m. at Piney Creek Cemetery, Piney Creek, N.C. Arrangements by Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Home, Independence, Va.
