Richard Riggle Obituary

Richard Sanders (Dick) Riggle, 79, of Wytheville, passed away Tuesday, March 3, 2009. He was the son of the late Floyd Sanders and Irene Bennett Riggle. He was a United States Marine Corps Veteran of the Korean War. He was a member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, Wytheville Lions Club, Wytheville Masonic Lodge # 82 AF & AM, New River Shrine Club, and Kazim Shrine of Roanoke. He served nine years on the Wythe County Electoral Board and was a retired Manufacturing Sales Representative. He was preceded in death by brothers, William R. Riggle and Robert Gerald Riggle; sister, Alese Riggle Weddle. He is survived by his wife, Martha Lindsey Riggle, of Wytheville; daughters and sons-in-law, Phyllis and Mike Wade, of Manassas, Melinda and Chris Hess, of Charlotte, N.C.; brothers and sisters-in-law, Roger and Libby Riggle, of Mechanicsville, Nelson and Joan Riggle, of Sandston; sisters-in-law, Lorayne Umberger Riggle, of Hixson, Texas, Elizabeth Yenner Riggle, of Lake City, Fla.; grandchildren, John Michael Hess, Chloe Elizabeth Hess, Amy Wade Bradfield and spouse, Josh, Clinton Elliott Wade; numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be Saturday, 2 p.m., in the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, conducted by Pastor Steve Ridenhour with the interment in Rosewood Memorial Gardens, Rural Retreat. Wytheville Masonic Lodge # 82 AF & AM will conduct Graveside rites. Family will receive friends at Grubb Funeral Home Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Agape Food Pantry, 405 West Main St., Wytheville, Va. 24382, or to the American Cancer Society, c/o Jean Lester, P.O. Box 958, Wytheville, Va. 24382. Grubb Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Martha,
Hi, My name is Lauren Replogle and I work for U.S. Cellular, I spoke with you on 03/31/09, I just wanted to let you know that you and the rest of your family are in my thoughts and my prayers, I hope the good Lord will bring peace through this grievance and that you will always remember the wonderful times you had with your husband, I hope my note to you has brought some inspiration and warmth to your heart.
