I appreciated Bro. Painter's consistent testimony and like my brother said, his Shepherd's heart.

I always enjoyed going up to their beautiful home and I treasure the pictures and memories of the time Bro. Painter took me up on 1/2 Acre Rock to see the breath-taking view. I remember the fact that he took time for me as a young girl more than the view.

I guess the thing that stands out to me is that he cared about each and every person......more than just what job we could get or how we looked....he cared about our souls and where we'll spend eternity. Let's not let him down - may we all purpose to live Biblical lives, based on the Word of God, so that we can someday all be together in Heaven. That would be the greatest "THANK YOU" we could ever give Bro. Painter for his years of faithful service and love.

It was very fitting that today was Good Shepard Sunday in church. Preacher was truly a Good Shephard. Driving around each day I see places that bring up memories of Preacher, SE. Roanoke, church on sunday night as a kid, Floyd, church and the life changing effects he had on my family, our farm in Floyd and the stories daddy told about Preacher helping him when he first got the farm, Ironto and Half Acre Rock, mom and dads house and the influence Preacher had on us, my shop, Preacher and Don bringing his Jeep truck in for work, pretty much anywhere around the valley there is some memory of Preacher. He will be greatly missed and our condolences to the family.
