Robert Swinsburg Obituary

Robert Richard Swinsburg, 82, of Draper, passed away at his home Sunday, November 2, 2008. Born December 28, 1925, in Hazelton, Pa., he was the son of the late John and Hazel Simms Swinsburg. His son, Terry Lee Swinsburg; brother, Jackie; and sister, Ruth, also preceded him in death. He was a veteran of the United States Navy and Coast Guard. He was a member of the Draper Presbyterian Church. He is survived by his wife of 56½ years, IvaJo Clark Swinsburg, of Draper; sons and daughters-in-law, Stephen and Noriesse Swinsburg, of Belton, S.C., the Rev. Robin and Joan Swinsburg, of Belpre, Ohio, Roger and Paulette Swinsburg, of Minneapolis, Minn.; daughter and son-in-law, Carol and Bernard Cavendish, of Pulaski; brothers and sisters-in-law, Wayne and Lucy Swinsburg, of Edison, N.J., Rolan and Violet Swinsburg, of Ocala, Fla., Bruce and Susan Swinsburg, of Sommerville, N.J.; nine grandchildren ; and 10 greatgrandchildren . Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, November 5, 2008, at the Draper Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Bob Davis officiating. Interment will follow at the Draper Presbyterian Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday at the Bower Funeral Chapel, Pulaski. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations in his memory be made to the Carilion Hospice Services, 707 Randolph Street, #257, Radford, Va. 24141.
