Ronnie D. "Bugs" Beckner Jr., 57, of Roanoke, Va., passed away Sunday, January 16, 2022.
He was born on November 24, 1964, son of Ronnie Dexter Beckner Sr. and Carolyn Jean Poage Beckner. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Benjamin Beckner, Mary Garner, and James H. and Dola Poage.
He was employed by James T. Davis Automotive Finishes for 27 years. His passion was to build and restore cars.
He is also survived by his wife of 35 years, Sereta J. (Tweety) Beckner; brother, Barry Beckner and wife, Vicky; a number of nieces and nephews; and numerous friends.
The Funeral Service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, January 22, 2022, at Oakey's Vinton Chapel with Pastor Michael DuVal officiating. Burial will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. on Friday, January 21, 2022, at Oakey's Vinton Chapel. Online condolences may be made at www.oakeys.com.

My thoughts and prayers are with the family of this wonderful man. I went to school with Ronnie and loved seeing him out at Walmart or Food Lion and chatting with him. There was no one like him, he had the biggest heart and never had an enemy or met a stranger. He loved life and will be dearly missed. Love always to him.

I have worked with Ronnie for the last 9 years. He was a great friend and we always had a blast when we worked together - I loved his Ronnieisms and his "leave nothing on the playing field " way of life. I will miss him terribly. God Speed Ronnie - I know you are driving a Rat Rod up there! My prayers and thoughts to Sereta, his family and friends.
