Mr. Ralph Hale:
I will say she was one of a kind, filled with gust, spirit and determination, and with a flair of elegance she could make the room feel as if the princess of time just entered the room. She was kind in heart and spirit and yet would set you straight and with directness and get to the point. She spoke with such admiration of her sons and told me stories of their horses, travels on the water, and how much she loved their visits in later years. She always had a sincere smile on her face and a way of setting Mr. Hale in her line of thought and that comes with years of devotion and love. You both were like a story book couple that belonged in your own time. I had great respect for both of you. I wish i had seen both more often and was thinking of you just a few weeks ago. I know she will be missed but she is watching over you in her own way with memories and love. God bless your family at this time and we are holding you dear near to our hearts also.

I'm sorry to hear about Mrs. Hale's passing. I remember being little and visiting with Christina and Terry and Lance to the farm and sitting on the porch and eating watermellon with Mr. and Mrs. Hale Sr. I remember that she always was a warm, loving person who's smile and care would make you feel so much at home. I'm praying for you all as you go through this loss. Love you all lots.

Be Still

Be still like the grass on a melancholy summer day
Be still like desert shrub.

Be calm and you will hear your loved one speak, in the stillness, in the calm, their love resounds.

If you are still this promise I make, you will hear the voice of your loved one helping you along your way.

I came across a poem, by Sharon Cutshall, that made me think of Mom. It is called "Grandma Guards Us".
Love was sent from heaven
Upon the wings of an Angel.
Planted like seeds in a garden
In hearts of special people.
Grandma gathered us together,
And taught us to care.
To prove love lives forever,
Enough for all to share.
Grandma knew what was best,
And worked hard everyday.
She barely even stopped to rest
Trying to avoid delay.
Grandma's spirit was so strong
She wanted to pass it on.
Grandma gave us a place to belong.
And even though those days are gone,
We're blessed with the spirit
She gave us with her love.
And now we must not forget
She guards us from above.

My prayers are with the family of Ruby Akers Hale. Ruby Akers was a neighbor of my family, the Hubbard's, as I grew up. I recall her as a beautiful young woman. I knew her siblings, Marie, R.W. and Ralph better. May her family find strength from our Lord and your memories of her wonderful contribution to all.

My grandmother was a wonderful person and the strongest woman I ever knew. She left an uncomparable impression on my life. I hope that I can be half the woman she ever was. She will surely be remembered fondly by anyone who has ever been lucky enough to know her. Please rejoice in what a great human being she was...some people will remember her wonderful homemade cakes, or her door delivery of vegetables, or her work as an accountant in her day, or how proud of her sons she was, or how very smart she was, or how very much she loved my grandpa, or how she was always a mediator or peace maker. Anyone who knew her could go on and on about all of her great attributes. I have so many wonderful memories of this beautiful woman who made a significant impact on my life. She would want you to remember all of these things about her instead of her final struggles. She will be dearly missed but remembered forever.
