Ruth Dudley Obituary

Ruth Irene Hall Dudley, 84, of Buchanan (formerly of Rockbridge Baths), died Sunday, January 25, 2009 in Roanoke Memorial Hospital. She was born March 26, 1924 in Buchanan, a daughter of the late Pete and Daisy Beckner McCullough. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, Charmer L. Hall and James Dudley. She was a member of Buchanan Baptist Church. Mrs. Dudley was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Surviving are three children, Cornelia Davis and husband, Bill, of Buena Vista, Charmer Lee Hall, Jr. and wife, Linda, of Lexington; and Brenda Manspile and husband, Gary, of Buchanan; nine grandchildren, Henry, Bobby, Lisa, Tracy, Shane, Lee, Troy, Tammy and James; fourteen greatgrandchildren, William, Elliot, Noah, Nick, Joshua, Jessica, Jordan, J.W., Austin, Autumn, Brooke, Trevor, Payton and Cody; one great-greatgrandson, Liam; a sister-in-law, Mary Hall of Woodstock. Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, January 30, 2009 at Ebenezer United Methodist Cemetery with the Rev. H. Ray Tucker officiating. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, January 29, 2009 at Harrison Funeral Home & Crematory, Lexington, Va.

In loving memory of a dear person. I have been blessed to know Ruth, and enjoy her company at Diner's Club. She was a bright spot in the day when she entered. Always smiling, always friendly, always cheerful - and always she will be remembered. My sympathy to you all for your loss.
