Sharon Snyder Obituary

Sharon Rose Snyder

December 10, 1943 - March 6, 2025

Sharon Rose Snyder, of Salem, VA, and formerly of Woodstock, VA, passed away on Thursday, March 6, 2025. She was born on December 10, 1943, in Pulaski, VA, to Robert Wirt and Virginia Rebecca Ferguson.

She was predeceased by her husband of 55 years, Charles "CB" Snyder Jr.; sister, Mary Wirt Moore; brother, Robert Wirt; as well as her parents.

She is survived by her son, Michael of Roanoke, VA, and his fiancée, Larissa Wright, and their daughter, Brooklynn; as well as special cousin, Mitzi Thurman and her husband, Clinton, of Boones Mill, VA; along with other cousins, nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her brother-in law, David Combs and his wife, Linda, of North Carolina; and sister-in-law, Peg Martin and her husband, Shelby, of Kentucky.

After moving to Shenandoah County in 1967, she spent her entire professional career working for local financial institutions.

She was a past member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the American Legion in Woodstock and previously attended First Church of Columbia Furnace, VA.

In her spare time, she enjoyed spending time with family and friends, cooking, playing Yahtzee, Uno and Rook, gardening, and her beloved cats. She was blessed with many great friends and neighbors through the years, and cherished her time spent with them.

Her and Charlie moved to Salem in 2012 and enjoyed their remaining years there.

The family would like to thank Affinity Care of Roanoke for the care and kindness given to Sharon.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of your choice. Friends may leave a condolence to the family by visiting www.Oakeys.com.
