Tommy has know "Spud" forever. They were the closest of friends, only one month apart. They went to high school together and college too. Then when Spud moved away, they always called one another. Our big trips to the East Coast would include a drive to Radford to see the McCardles. Tommy was the oldest and Spud would always tell Tommy, when his birthday came, that Tom was a year older than him. We miss him so much. Our thoughts and prayers are with Spud's family. We love you guys.

Eleanor and I send our condolences to the whole family. I worked with Steve for many years when I was with the Faculty Club and Steve was our "go-to-person" in Food Services. He was always the consummate professional, friendly, cheerful and helped us steer the club through some tough times. I shall miss having a beer with him on my visits back to Radford.

This is in heavy heart and lots of tears that it has taken me a few days since Steves passing for me to try to even put in to words how great of a friend and boss that he was to me over the years . I went to work for him at R.U. back in the early 80,s as a young new cook on the block . And over a 18 teen year stretch he turned me in to a very good cook , he always trusted in me with overseeing and cooking for there catering department for several year . We had lots of good times together in the evenings after work , and as he would always say ( LET go out to the porch ) . I will alway cherish the times and the friendship that he showed me over the years . And Steve he always treated me more like a brother than just an employee. He will be saddley missed by all that every came in contact with him , and where close enough to him to be called his friend . My thoughts and prayers go out to all the family of Steve Mccardle R.I.P old friend sincerly Kenny Rasnake .

To all the family - When I visited Steve a few days ago, he told me he was blessed to have one of the most supportive families a person could ask for and spoke of how fortunate he was to have so many friends. He was one of my dearest friends and I will miss him so much. I love you all and pray God's peace in your lives during this time and in the future.
