Steven St.Clair Obituary

Steven "Cole" St.Clair

June 22, 1986 - March 10, 2022

Steven 'Cole' St.Clair, 35, of Vinton, Va., went to be with the Lord on Thursday, March 10, 2022.

Cole was born on June 22, 1986, and raised in Vinton, Va., by his loving parents, Thomas Steven St.Clair and Terri Engle St.Clair, alongside his younger sister, Madelynn Paige S. Thompson.

He graduated from William Byrd High School in 2004 and attended The Burton Center for Arts & Technology Criminal Justice Program. In 2006, he met the love of his life, Sandy St.Clair. They enjoyed 16 years together and were married on May 18, 2016.

Cole proudly worked for his father as an automotive mechanic at the family business, Steve's Automotive Service Center in Vinton, Va. He will be remembered for his infectious laugh, free spirit, and heart of gold. His sense of humor was unmatched; he was often referred to as the funniest person everyone knew. He was known for his willingness to help anyone in need who crossed his path.

His legacy is one of extreme kindness, determination, and loyalty. He enjoyed classic cars, kayaking on the James River, taking Sunday naps with his cherished dogs, and spending time with his family. He was truly one of a kind and he will be missed forever by all that knew him.

He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Dorothy W. St.Clair; grandfather, Thomas W. St.Clair; and his beloved hound, Buddy.

He is survived by his wife, Sandy Snider St.Clair; Sandy's children, Courtney Lafferty (Chris Hardman), Taylor L. Meier (Bryan Meier), and Josh Midkiff (Alicia Austin); parents, Steve and Terri St.Clair; sister, Paige Thompson and brother-in-law, Steven Thompson; maternal grandparents, Doris M. Engle and Jerry C. Engle; step grandmother, Joyce St.Clair; step grandmother, Joyce St.Clair; aunt, Vicky S. Munna; uncles, Eric W. St.Clair and Scott C. Engle (Emily Hall); and numerous cousins and friends.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. and from 6 to 8 p.m. at Oakey's Vinton Chapel on Wednesday, March 16, 2022. A Celebration of Life, officiated by Pastor Allen Woodie, will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, March 17, 2022, at Oakey's Vinton Chapel with a graveside service to follow at Mountain View Cemetery.

Oh how much he is going to be missed, he's already pulled a tight string on so many peoples hearts he's probably clueless as to the amount of people is actually hurting from his lose. Myself being 1 of the many. He didn't deserve this, and myself honestly I don't think it should have been his time to go, but the big man upstairs the higher power the superior and Almighty needed Cole there with him in heaven the Lord took away a great human being as a friends and even more so a family member Cole loved Hard and didn't get over/past things easily and if somebody in the group was feeling outta place or upset some typa way Cole would go to the moon just to make that person feel comfortable and happy not outta place and he was so good at making anybody laugh whether you knew him or not. COLE buddy we had so many good memories that I'll cherish forever and a lifetime but buddy how I miss those daily phone calls in the morning before work or after work to see if my day went good at work and if I minded in hanging out or chilling coming by his and Sandy's place to hangout. We only live 5 mins away from each other. Me and Cole had created such a molded Bond that was just mended so easily and just stuck together so hard and naturally like it was it our purpose to become such good friends and acquaintances in the time that we did in the parts of our lives we met and we took care of each other and allow one another to get past the obstacles and stressors of life and we bother carried each other and handled our own we got through anything in our way. I miss you buddy so damn much and would do anything for just ONE MORE DAY!
