I was so very sorry and sad to hear of Susan's passing. She was a friend I had yet to meet though we spoke a few times on the phone and thru many emails. She was such a love. She will be missed by many.

Ms. Woodson was my FAVORITE instructor at ECPI:) I learned so many things from her. She will be so missed by all who knew her. I love her with all my heart. She always went above and beyond for me. She loved to talk about her little Shawn. You are in my thoughts and prayers:)

My heart is broke to hear of Ms.Woodson's passing. She gave of herself selflessly. She was a great program director,nurse,and friend. I am a graduate of the MA program and appreciate ALL that Ms. Woodson did for the program and for me.During my externship my mother became very sick and passed away. Ms. Woodson allowed me to be with my mom in her final days. I will NEVER forget that. She was a special woman who never met a stranger and loved everybody.To her family I extend my deepest sympathy. I am honored to have known her.

Susan was a precious friend and I feel a void in my heart. I am a former co-worker from ECPI and I know the dedication that she put into making the medical assisting program a success. She supported and loved all of her students. Shawn was the "apple of her eye" and she loved to tell stories about him. I am so sorry for this sudden loss. My prayers go out to you.

Susan worried about my blood pressure alll the time. "Sweetie, don't forget to come back and get that BP checked." A true nurse, she always dropped what she was doing to take care of others. She is on my list of the five most unselfish people I have ever known. I am honored to have been a colleague, been a friend, and been a witness to her many charming quirks. I think I will start keeping my phone in my bosom so I will never forget her.

As it has been said numerous times before, Susan was very special, dear to many and a GOD send. I am so grateful for the opportunity to have met and worked with her (Interim Healthcare) she will be truly missed. Susan & I worked together not only as a team but side by side, I can still hear her yelling for me... She had the biggest heart of anyone I have ever known and shared it with everyone! She adored her family especially her little Shawn. She gave her all to her Medical Assisting students at ECPI to insure their success, I know they will miss her. Susan was like a second mother to me & a dear friend; I will miss her deeply. My thoughts & prayers are with her family. I love you "Susie Q"

It's so heard to understand why they wanted to take Mrs Woodson from us she was just fine in class on Monday morning. She was like our mother away from home. Our class is not going to be the same without her no one is going to be to take her place. Sorry to hear about you mother and grandmother she will be missed dearly. I was a student of Ms Woodson's. She was a wonderful person! She not only helped me in school but also in my personal life as well. She opened many doors and opportunities for me. I looked at her as my mother away from home. She helped keep my head above water more times than I can count. It's hard to believe she's gone, yet I know she will forever be in everyone's heart and mind.
To the family, I am so sorry for your loss. She obviously loved you dearly. Her family was her favorite subject in class, especially little Shawn. My heart and prayers go out to you all.

I learned so much about Grayson County and genealogy from Susan. We spent a lot of time talking about our ancestors. But her first love was her family; Susan's eyes would light up everytime she mentioned Valerie, Greg or her "special little man" Shawn. Susan also cared for and was proud of her Medical Assistant students at ECPI. She was my special friend; we traveled all over the Roanoke and New River Valleys looking for externship sites with me fussing and her laughing at me all the way.
My deepest sympathy goes out to the family she loved. You are in my prayers.

Words cannot express how GREAT Ms. Woodson was. She was not only a wonderful teacher, she was a great friend. I worked with Susan and found her to be a most caring and loving teacher and person. She was always hospitable to prospective students as we toured them through the halls and I will sorely miss her smiling face and caring demeanor each day. My heart aches for those left behind but rejoice in the fact that she will not be in pain each day.

I worked with Susan at the Red Cross. We stayed friends through email and some lunches. We both have grandsons Named Shawn that we adored.
I couldnt believe when I read the obits this morning. I dont know how to get in touch with her family, but want you to know, I loved her very much and will keep you all in my prayers. God bless you all.

Susan was across the hall from me in her office every day. I miss her voice. I know she loved her students and she loved her children. She was so proud of her grandson and spoke of him every day. She will be missed and she is the heart of the MA program. Her spirit will live on.

I know a lot of students are going to miss ms. woodson and im sorry for the ones that didnt get to be her students because their was something special about this woman that no other teacher in that school could touch. She was caring,funny,kind,thoughtful,forgetful at times, (but it made for a good laugh), responsible,and she loved her students and nobody could or can take us away from her.but everything happens for a reason, and we will all know that reason someday. But God bless the family and especially little shawn. You are and always will be her pride and joy, as she would ALWAYS tell us in class :)

She was my friend and she was the most loving teacher and women I have ever met. It will never be the same without her but we all know that she is in a better place with no more pain or stress. I know that everyone here at ECPI will feel the loss of Ms. Woodson for a very long time. She did so much for all of us here. We will be lost without her. Not only did she help us with school problems she also helped with personal things as well. She wanted our success as much as we do. Walking in to school is not the same. I, as a Medical Assistant Student at E.C.P.I, can not express my sympathy well enough to express the lost of Ms. Susan Woodson. She was a woman full of love for all of her students and had a heart dedicated to educating her students with her excellent and professional knowledge in the medical field.
