Suzanne Archer Obituary

Suzanne Sutherland Archer, 70, of Greenville, S.C., and wife of Robert Archer, died on Sunday, October 16, 2011, at Greenville Memorial Hospital. Born in Wytheville, Va., she was a daughter of the late Latane and Margaret Neville Sutherland. Mrs. Archer had worked at A.C. Moore and was a member of Our Lady of the Rosary Catholic Church. She enjoyed sewing and crafting. Surviving, in addition to her husband of 54 years, are two children, Randy Archer (Sheila), of Greer, and Allyson McGaha (Joel), of Fayetteville, N.C.; four grandchildren, Michael Archer, and Josh, Jessica, and Jacquelyn McGaha, of Fayetteville, N.C.; a great-granddaughter, Madison Archer; and a sister, Ellen Butler (Jim), of Taylors. She was predeceased by a brother, Johnny Sutherland; and three daughters, Beth, Becky, and Andrea Archer. Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital, 332 Lauderdale St., Memphis, TN 38105. Visitation was held on Tuesday, October 18, 2011, from 6 until 7:30 p.m. at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Downtown. The Funeral Service will be held at 3 p.m. on Wednesday, October 19, 2011, in the chapel of the funeral home. Burial will follow at Greenville Memorial Gardens. Allison, I was so sorry to hear about your mom. I did not find out until after the visitation and service or I would have been there. You were such a good friend when my dad passed away.It always gave me a special feeling to see your mom at AC Moore because it would remind me of all the great times we had back in high school.She will be missed.
