Terry ALLEN Obituary

Terry Lee Allen, 55, of Robin Street, Christiansburg, died peacefully early Monday morning, November 18, 2013, at Heritage Hall, in Blacksburg, Va., following a courageous battle with Huntington's disease. Born on March 19, 1958, at Radford, he was the son of the late Delmar Allen and Marjorie Stephenson Allen.
Due to his health, Terry retired from the Maintenance Department as Supervisor of Roofer for Virginia Tech after many years of faithful service to the school.
In his spare time, Terry loved to ride his motorcycle, especially riding alongside his wife, Sabrina. Terry truly enjoyed traveling, in a drop of a moment, his bags were packed and ready to go, whether it was on land or water, he never missed an opportunity to see the world. Terry was a people person and one that never liked to miss a meal; he enjoyed food and having his Dr. Pepper. He was a member of Harbor Hope Pentecostal Church in Christiansburg.
In addition to his parents, Terry was preceded in death by all of his siblings: Gregory, Geoffrey, Kimberly Allen and Sally Farrier. Terry is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Sabrina Clemson Allen, married in 2003; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Bobbie and Travis Clemson of Princeton; brothers-in-law, Travis Clemson of Richmond, Martin Farrier of Newport, Barry Harrell of Pembroke; sisters-in-law, Diane Allen of Wytheville, Sheree Chafin Williams of Chilhowie, Becky L. Michael of Christiansburg, Lisa Clemson of Richmond, Becky Harrell of Pembroke; a host of nieces and nephews: Mart, Jenny,Geof and Shannon, Joshua and EJ Zimmerman, Sarah, Mark and Kristy, Andrew and Nicki, Cody, Brett, Brandon, Afton, Brittany, Baylee, Brielle, Seth and Shay; two great-nephews, Cason and Sylas; his special four-legged companions, his dog Bailey and his cat Sugar; special friends, Danny and Teresa Sowers of Christiansburg, Jennifer and Jackson Thorn of Bluefield, Karen McCollum of Raleigh, N.C.; and many aunts, uncles and cousins. And to his extended family our appreciation, Hope Roop, Medi Home Health Hospice and the staff of Heritage Hall.
Services to celebrate the life of Terry Allen will be held 6 p.m. Thursday, November 21, 2013, at Harbor of Hope Pentecostal Holiness Church in Christiansburg with Pastor Richard Kingrea and Pastor Roger Henderson officiating.
A time of gathering and sharing will be held Thursday from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Harbor of Hope Pentecostal Holiness Church.
Graveside services will be held Friday at 10 a.m. at the Newport Cemetery at Newport. Those wishing to attend are requested to meet at the cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers will be Jackson Thorn, Cody Clemson, Bobby Owens, Pete Smith, Kevin Shrader and Trent Chinault. Honorary pallbearers will be Bobby Hale, Roger Wimmer, Johnny Fitts, Chris Stevers, Duke Sarver, Danny Sowers and Dwight "Digger" Shelor.
Online condolences may be shared via www.memorialfd.com. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts can be made to Huntington's Disease Society, 158 W. 29th Street, 7 Floor, New York, NY 10001-5300. The Allen family is being served by the Memorial Funeral Directory & Cremation Center on the Athens Road in Princeton.
