Thomas Dickerson Obituary

Thomas W. Dickerson, 67, of Roanoke, went to be with the Lord on Saturday December 13, 2008. He was a member of the Westminster Presbyterian Church in America where he was a member of the choir and a elder. He was a United States Army veteran and was had been very active in high school activities and was liked by everyone. He spent a year at Maryville College and three years at Rio Grande College. Surviving are his wife of 41 years, Frances M. Dickerson; three sons and daughters-in-law, Matthew W. and Becky Dickerson, of Winston Salem, N.C., Steven Thomas and Brenna Dickerson of, Boonville, N.C., Christopher M. Dickerson, of Roanoke; three grandchildren, Katelyn, Justin and Hannah Dickerson; brother, Rt. Col. Michael A. Dickerson and wife, Nancy, of Fairfax, Va.; niece, Jennifer Hinkle; nephews, Michael and Sean Dickerson. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday December 16, 2008, at the Westminster Presbyterian Church in America with the Pastor John Furman officiating. Interment will be in Cedar Lawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Oakey's North Chapel, 362-1237.

Tom was my supervisor in Customer Service for a time when we worked at Stuart McGuire/HSN. He was a wonderful man doing a very difficult job, and he was always nice, always understanding, and I was so sorry when he left us. My heartfelt condolences on the loss of such a great man.
