Verna Faye Wilson Dalglish, 90, of Roanoke, Virginia, passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 19, 2023.
She was born on November 22, 1932, in Emporium, Pennsylvania, a daughter of the late John Wilson and Vivian Reed Wilson. Faye was also predeceased by her husband, Robert James Dalglish.
Surviving are her daughter, Colleen (Dominick Andriano) Beebe; her sons, Robert Craig (Becky) Dalglish and Ian (Vicki Weiss) Dalglish; son-in-law, Stuart Beebe; grandchildren, Shane (Hayley) McClintick, Jamie (Christian) Edwards, Brendan (Jennifer) Dalglish, and Bryton Dalglish; and nine great-grandchildren. She enjoyed being Aunt Faye to all her nieces and nephews.
Faye worked her entire adult life and took great pride in doing a good job. After moving to Roanoke in 1968 she worked for many years at Sav-A-Stop in Salem until they closed business. She ended her work career with Ingersoll Rand.
After retirement Faye filled her days with gardening, her church, The Red Hats and watching The Young and The Restless. Church became the place to make many new friends. She enjoyed singing in the Sunshine Gang, visiting nursing homes and having lunch with area school children. She was known for her warm heart, a contagious laugh that came from her belly and her amazing fashion sense.
The family would like to thank invaluable neighbors and friends, Ricky and Donna Alls, Theresia Waller, Wendy Spurlock, and Jane and Gary Lambert, who consistently provided friendship and assistance, especially when Mom was unable to do for herself.
A visitation will be held from 6 until 8 p.m. on Monday, November 27, 2023, at Oakey's Chapel North. A Graveside Service will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, November 28, 2023, at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. Online condolences may be share with the family at www.Oakeys.com.

What a beautiful lady Faye was- a great smile but she was a no fuss person. She told it like it was. I loved talking politics with her since we shared many of the same thoughts on that subject. She was so dear to me and I will miss her dearly. But her health struggles are over and for that I am thankful. RIP until we meet again.
