Virginia Brammer Obituary

Virginia Brown (Jenny) Brammer, 72, of Glade Hill, passed away on Sunday, June 5, 2011, at her home surrounded by her family. Jenny was born on May 20, 1939, the daughter of the late Bailey P. and Myrtle B. Brown. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Charles D. Brammer; five brothers, Lee, Ernest, Paul, Taylor, and Benford "Buck" Brown; and sister, Lena Wells. Jenny was a lifelong resident of Franklin County and businesswoman who established and operated Professional Tax and Business Service for 30 years. She was an extraordinary lady who worked tirelessly to help her customers, offering endless counsel and support. Jenny's successful career also includes co-establishing and operating Franklin Ready Mix Concrete along with her husband and Larry Southall for many years. She was passionate about everything she did and was fearless in all her endeavors. She will be deeply missed. She is survived by her two daughters, Karen Davis and husband, Bruce, and Shay Brammer and partner, Lisa Black; three grandchildren, Jeff Reynolds (long term girlfriend, Meagan), Joanna Reynolds, and Bailey Brammer; two sisters, Ercelle Hodges and Frances McNeil (Donald); as well as numerous nieces and nephews; devoted friend, Kathy Brown; also several wonderful caregivers. Graveside Services will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Thursday, June 9, 2011, at the Brammer Family Cemetery, Colonial Turnpike, Rocky Mount, with Pastor Rick Poland officiating. The family will receive friends from 6 to 9 p.m. on Wednesday night, June 8, 2011, at Conner Bowman Funeral Home. Flowers will be accepted or donations may be made to the Glade Hill Rescue Squad or the Glade Hill Fire Department. Arrangements by Conner Bowman Funeral Home, 62 Virginia Market Place Drive, Rocky Mount, Va.

I know Jenny will be missed by so many. I remember meeting her MANY years ago when I worked at Bernard's Carpet. She sure made my job easy buy correcting all of my mistakes! Mrs. Brammer made it possible for so many lives to be changed by helping me to start the "Center for Christian Counseling". Thanks to Mrs. Brammer the Center has made a huge impact on many families in Franklin, Martinsville and Henry counties. She will surely be missed.
