My condolences to "MR. B's" family. I knew him as Warrant Officer, Mr. W.V. Boadwine. I first met him when he was First Sgt of the 1030TH Combat Engineers, VA Army National Guard on October 17, 1965 when he gave me my entrance test for the Guard. I served in the Pulaski unit until 1978 and Mr. B helped me transfer to the Army Reserve at Radford and later to the 424th Transportation company at Galax VA. I was also a member of the Hillsville Fire Department for 22 years and attended many classes taught by Peanut, Jack Tabor and Charlie Haymore. I got out of the Army reserve in 1986 after 21 years service and I will always cherish the fond memories of Mr. Boadwine as a friend, mentor and professional soldier and Fire Instructor.
May God bless you at this sad time.
I only learned of Peanut's passing while talking to a fellow Fireman and ex VaARNG buddy this past Sunday.

Dear Hazel and family
Our prayers are with you as you go through this time of sorrow. We loved P-Nut a lot, and he will be sadly missed. He is now keeping his reservation in Heaven and singing with the angels.
