William H. Moore Jr. (aka Bill / Papa) was an amazing man who passed April 27, 2025 at his home in Hopkinsville, KY. He departed this world at 7:32 p.m. surrounded by his wife, children, and grandchildren.
Bill was born and raised in Roanoke, VA. He was an Army Veteran who served in both Vietnam and the Gulf War. He retired with 22 years of service, making many friends, and and leaving a lasting impact on multitudes of Soldiers through his decades of service. Along this path, Bill and his family lived in several states ranging from Virginia to Alaska, and lots of places in between. Everyone knew he loved his country, but he loved his family more than anything.
He was preceded in death by his parents Henry & Mildred Moore; his sisters Barbara Stanley & Myrtle Anderson; and his son David William Moore.
He is survived by his wife Bonnie Saul Moore (who he loved with a passion); his children (who he considered his greatest blessings) Christina Schmid Moore, Tonya (Mark) Payton, Lesley (Dave) Hanak, Nathan (Chelle) Moore, Amy (Joe) Hall. *It is important to note that his children describe him as the "best human who will ever walk this planet"!).
He is also survived by fifteen grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.
