William Moser Obituary
January 9, 1950 - January 5, 2024
William "Bill" A. Moser of Roanoke, Va., went to be with his Savior on Friday, January 5, 2024.
Bill was a selfless and humble leader of men, who loved the Lord and his family. He is now in Heaven with his Pops and Nannie, Mogie, Ola; his parents, William H. and Faye Moser; along with his many friends and fellow soldiers.
Bill was a good husband and father who loved his country. He joined the United States Army and served three tours in Vietnam along with a long and decorated career retiring as a General, including the receiving of the United States Distinguished Service Cross. After his military career, he taught Senior Cadets at Virginia Tech.
He was preceded in death by his father, William H. Moser, who died in the service of his country on September 16, 1951, in Korea; mother, Faye Moser; brother, Christopher Cochran; and grandparents.
Surviving is his loving wife, Dinah Moser; son, Greg (Pam) Southerland; brother, Phillip (Terrie) Cochran; and many nieces and nephews and family members.
Bill was a private man, who had a giving spirit and never drew attention to himself. He brought glory to his Lord and Savior by living Psalm 91.
Visitation will be held at Oakey's North Chapel on Sunday, January 14, 2024, from 2 to 4 p.m. The Funeral Service will be conducted at Shenandoah Baptist Church on Monday, January 15, 2024, at 1 p.m. with interment to follow at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. Condolences may be made at www.Oakeys.com.
