Woodrow Wilson Jamison

W. Wilson Jamison, Minister, 82, of Roanoke, went to be with his Lord on Wednesday, March 14, 2007. Wilson was born in Franklin County, a son of the late William Lee Jamison, Sr. and Susie Lovell Jamison. He served in the United States Army during World War II and had served as a Minister in Missouri, Tennessee and Virginia and had retired as Minister of Community Christian Church of Christ in Roanoke County. Wilson was preceded in death by his brothers, William and Moyer Jamison; his sisters, Virginia, Grace and Sally, all of Martinsville. He is survived by his children, Mildred Grace and husband Dr. Gary Bush of Gray, Tenn., Sharon Faith McGhee and husband Burrell of Salem, Timothy (Tim) Allan Jamison and wife Michelle of Martinsville; his grandchildren, Celeste Holler and husband Brady of Southern Pines, N.C., Sara Miramontes and husband Eric of Sanford, N.C., Danielle Jennings of Salem, Christian Jamison of Martinsville; his great-grandsons, twins Nathaniel and Elijah Holler; mother of his children, Ethel H. Jamison of Martinsville; his sister, Nina Hilton of Martinsville; his brother, Charlie Jamison of Martinsville; several nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank the staff at Loyalton Assisted Living of Roanoke with special thanks to Dixie Utter and thanks to Remmington House Assisted Living, Kingsport, Tenn. with special thanks to Becky Oakes for all their care and concern. A funeral service will be held at Norris Funeral Services Chapel (Martinsville), Saturday, 2 p.m. Interment in Camp Branch Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery, Henry County. The family will receive friends Saturday, 12 noon to 2 p.m. at Norris Funeral Services Chapel. Local arrangements by Oakey's Roanoke Chapel.
