Ashley Stickney Obituary

Ashley Danielle Stickney

LUMBERTON — Ashley Danielle Stickney, 32, of Lumberton, was born Aug. 13, 1984, and passed into eternity on Nov. 18, 2016, at Southeastern Regional Medical Center.

She was preceded in death by her maternal grandmother, Susie Young; and her paternal grandparents, Jess and Moncelle Gibson.

She is survived by her husband Chester "PeeDee" Haggins of the home; her children, Destiny Alicia Cummings and Dylan Lee Cummings of the home; a stepdaughter, Saniah Haggins of Lumberton; her mother, Tammy Stickney Oxendine of Lumberton; her father, Jimmy Gibson Sr., of Maxton; a sister, Christina Stickney Locklear (husband Ricky Locklear) of Lumberton; four brothers, Corey Stickney and Elton Young (wife Felicia Young), both of Lumberton, Jimmy Gibson Jr., and Synaska Gibson of Maxton; six nieces and five nephews; and an extended family of relations and friends from every walk of life.

To know Ashley was to love her. She had a sweet loving spirit and was always willing to help out. Ashley would feed you, kiss you, hug you, and love on you because that was Ashley. Family "get togethers" will not be the same without her because she was loud and was always the life of the party. Therefore as her presence was always known her absence will be as well.

The funeral will be held at 8 p.m. Monday at Greater Hope International Church, Pastor Ron Barnes and Rev. Kary Wilkins officiating. Burial will follow at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Lumbee Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Greater Hope International Church before the service.

Ashley was my customer here @ M&M Auto Sales and the news I got Saturday morning devastated me. Ashley always came in with a smiling face, stayed and chatted a while, and left with a positive thought . I will truly miss her coming in and chatting with me ... as we all here @ M&M will. Sometimes certain people touch your life and warm your heart and she was definitely one of those people.
