Barbara Sawyers Spitler
Barbara Sawyers Spitler, of Greensboro, N.C., passed away suddenly on Monday, March 9, 2026.
She was a creative soul, a devoted mother and someone who gave deeply of herself throughout her life. Barbara married Gary Franklin Spitler in 1980 and was most proud of being a mother to Gregory, Anne and Stephen. She taught school briefly, volunteered at Chestnut Street Methodist Church, and loved crafting and shopping.
She is survived by her children and grandchildren, her sister Phyllis Sawyers, and many loving family members.
She was preceded in death by her husband Gary and her parents James Marzelle and Glenna Spaulding Sawyers.
The family extends heartfelt thanks to Brian Lee Spitler and Edwin Franklin Spitler Jr. for their unwavering support.
A private viewing will be held, and her ashes will be spread in the places she requested.
