Handy Junior Stephens
LUMBERTON — Minister Handy Junior Stephens departed this life at Southeastern Regional Medical Center on April 12, 2016.
Minister Handy was the son of Gloria Stephens and the late Handy Stephens Sr. He was born in Robeson County, N.C., on Jan. 6, 1970.
He is preceded in death by his father, Handy Stephens Sr.
Minister Handy leaves to cherish his memories, his mother, Ms. Gloria Stephens; his daughters, Ms. Chanelle Stephens and Ms. Hanna Stephens, both of Lumberton, and Ms. LaQuation Mckoy of Dublin; a son, Rashard Stephens of Lumberton; his grandchildren, JyMya Stephens, Lamar Stephens and Casen Ford; two sisters, Tangie Burhans (James Burhans) of Virginia and Lisa McAre (Kenny) of Lumberton; his special nieces, Shaunntay Matthews of Charlotte, Shaniqua Burhans of Virginia; his aunts, Rose McMillian; Martha Moore, Willamae Stephens and Lydia Robinson; an uncle, Fred McMillian; two great-nephews; a host of cousins; his special friends, Pastor Elbert Thompson, Maurice Christovale, Ray Cotton and Corrnell Underwoood, Gates Sharpe, Grizelda Thompson
The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday at Lumberton Junior High School, Pastor Elbert Thompson of Faith Deliverance Center of Faith officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Zion Baptist Church Cemetery on Mt. Olive Church Road, Lumberton.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Revels Funeral Home Lumberton.
