John McLean Obituary
JOHN PURCELL McLEAN
John Purcell McLean, age 76, of Lumberton, NC, died suddenly and peacefully on Saturday, July 15, 2023. He was born on September 2, 1946, to the late John Luther and Isabell Gray McLean.
In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by his wife, Ellen Pittman McLean; a son, John Purcell McLean, Jr., and a daughter, Julia Pittman McLean.
John is survived by a daughter, Hartley McLean, and three sisters: Marianna McLean, Marshall McLean Daniel (Max), and Beth McLean; as well as two grandchildren, Julia McLean and John Howard McLean.
John was a lifelong resident of Lumberton and was admired and loved by many. He was kind and generous and always willing to lend a helping hand. He was an avid outdoorsman.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to a charity of your choice.
A memorial service will be held on Monday, July 17, 2023, at 2:00PM at First Presbyterian Church, 1002 North Chestnut Street in Lumberton, NC. A reception will follow the service.
