JOYCE FIELDS LOCKLEAR
LUMBERTON — Mrs. Joyce Fields Locklear, 79, of Lumberton, departed this life on April 20, 2022, at UNC Health Southeastern Hospice House in Lumberton.
She was born in Lumberton, to the late Hardy Fields and mother, Savannah O. Fields.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her stepmother, Lena Mae Fields; a sister, Geraldine Blue; and four brothers, Sanford Fields, R. D. Fields, Shelton Fields, and Allen Wayne Fields.
She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Norman J. Locklear; three daughters, Mary K. Jacobs (Ernie Wayne), Peggy A. Mayes (Larry), and Mary Ann Locklear, all of Lumberton; a son, Anthony Locklear of Lumberton; three brothers, Hardy Fields Jr. (Robin) of Baltimore, Maryland, Alford Ray Fields (Patrina) of Raeford, and Kenneth Fields (Theresa) of Rocky Mount; two sisters, Linda Hunt (James) of Lumberton, and Tammy Goins (Zimmie) of Fairmont; an aunt, Clara Mae Oxendine; an uncle, Billy Fields; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; a beloved special family friend, Wayne H. King; and a host of family and friends.
The funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, April 24, 2022, at Revels Funeral Home Lumberton. Burial will follow at Robeson Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends and family from 1 to 2 p.m. Sunday, April 24, 2022, at Revels Funeral Home Lumberton, prior to the funeral.
